Hidemasa Morita is from Takatsuki City in Japan. Whilst his family was more involved in tennis, it was football (which he played with his older brother) that caught his eye from an early age. Rebellious and persistent, Morita pursued his dream of becoming a professional football player from his first steps, at Takatsuki Shimizu FC, where he played mostly out of passion, to Ryutsu Keizai University, where he prepared hard to be ready to become a professional. In 2018, he signed a contract with the then J-League champions, Kawasaki Frontale and made his debut for the Japanese national team in 2018. In three seasons he won two Japanese championships, a Super Cup, a Japanese Cup and a League Cup.
He arrived at CD Santa Clara in January 2021 where one and a half seasons in the Portuguese top tier, were enough for Sporting CP to move forward with his signing, with a view to strengthen the midfield. To the Club's media, Morita confessed that he had wanted to play with the Lions since he arrived in Portugal and that he was happy to face the biggest challenge of his career.
