Alvalade heroes dominate right across the board

As 2016 finally came to a close, Sporting CP had tallied a spectacular 170 national titles, covering everything from futsal to athletics and swimming.

Collectively, futsal, table tennis, athletics and swimming tallied the most silverware. Nuno Dias' team won the National Championship, Portuguese Cup, League Cup, and Honour Cup in futsal, while Alvalade's table tennis stars won the National Championship, Portuguese Cup and Super Cup. In athletics, Sporting's men claimed the long distance cross country title, while Alvalade's ladies won a brilliant European Champions Club Cup in addition to an indoor national title. In swimming, Sporting CP again won the national championship in the male competition, in addition to a Portuguese Cup. In the beach soccer the National Championship followed, in addition to judo wins in the male event.
