Club carries on the fight for sportsmanship with groundbreaking methodology

Estádio José Alvalade was the stage chosen for the second session of a project launched earlier this year in cooperation with Sporting CP, focusing on integrity and a reducing in violence, discrimination, intolerance and fixing in the world of sports.

The "PsyTool Sport Psychology as a strategic tool for prevention and training on grassroots sports” project will run for 24 months, with the contribution of 15 institutions, including Sporting and the Spanish club Sevilla.

“This is in line with Sporting's history. We want to build up a model of social responsibility which reaches across to athletes and everyone who works with the club. We don't only want to train athletes, but also citizens. We think that sharing our experiences will benefit everyone", explained Sporting's vice-president, Carlos Vieira, at the event.

The thoughts of the Alvalade vice-president where also mirrored by Pablo Olavide: “The objective is to create a model based on sports psychology that can promote fair-play between football players. We think that the education of coaches, parents and players is the most important thing in removing violence from the sport of sport, particularly football."
