One of the flags being flown by Sporting CP is for the fight against corruption in sport. That is the same motive that has already took president Bruno de Carvalho to the Portuguese Parliament three times to speak with three different political parties.

 

Pedro Proença picked up the theme at Football Talks this week, highlighting the role of the sport's governing bodies: "Measures in this area are absolutely fundamental. Football is currently going through a totally different paradigm. The Portuguese Football League and Portuguese Football Federation have been trying to monitor illicit activities that discredit football and that is something that has to be done constantly and continuously. The League and Federation, but also the Players' Syndicate and National Coaches and Referees Associations are looking to develop a programme on this issue."
