Portuguese committee's oldest athlete just short of medal battle

João Costa came up short of the 7th place finish earned on London 2012 this week, finishing in 11th overall in the 10m pistol competition.

“To finish just two points short is like reaching the final. For me that was the minimum, but we are humans and these things happen. We did what we could", affirmed the 51-year old after the event.

Costa will however have another roll of the dice next Thursday, this time in the 50m pistol competition.
