Abdallah Armouti takes Sporting to the Arab world

Abdallah Armouti is 24 and lives in the Jordanian capital of Amman. His love for Sporting came about by chance, on the 5th of May 2005. "It was really just a coincidence. I was following the UEFA Cup when the Alkmaar-Sporting CP match was on TV in my country. I have never stopped Sporting since then. I really liked how the team played. The end of the match was incredible", said Abdallah Armouti in an interview with the club.

In 2014 Abdallah created a Twitter account in Arab, where he keeps his fellow followers up to day with eveything Sporting.

Sporting CP reaches 150,000 club members

Sporting will reach the historic milestone of 150,000 club members this Monday. The 100,000 mark was passed in 2013, when Cristiano Ronaldo signed up.

The past three years have seen the club's number of members grow by a staggering 50%.

Bruno de Carvalho visits Minho Sporting Supporters' Club

As part of Sporting's trip north this Saturday, president Bruno de Carvalho made his usual stop at the local Supporters' Clubs, this time being hosted in the Minho Sporting Supporters' Club in Braga by more than 350 fans. The lunch marked on of the first times that the Alvalade chief has touched on the issue of the club elections in March 2017.

"I came to the club to put my heart and soul into my job, but I am not alone. I have done it with the rest of the board, staff, athletes and fans who have always supported us. The big difference is that we are all in symphony, finally. The elections don't matter, what matters is that we win football titles", said Bruno de Carvalho.

Also at the event was Sporting athlete Sara Moreira, receiving a tribute after a brilliant season that culminated in a European Champions Club Cup win. "I always dreamt of representing Sporting. The club has always had the best athletes and I always wanted to be one of them. I wasn't born a big fan, but I certainly am now."

Vice-president Vicente Moura on the coming gymnastics season

After an almost unbelievable season that saw 58 Sporting gymnasts win national titles, the time has come to open another athletics season.

Speaking to an Alvalade auditorium packed out by eager athletes, both young and old, vice-president Vicente Moura set out the club's objectives for the coming season: "We had some great sports results and took part in the Olympic Games through Diogo Abreu. I am sure that this will be another good year for us. We had 58 gymnasts win national titles, two of which were in two disciplines. We had 150 athletes in the Eurogym in the Czech Republic as well and we have set a new record for the number of athletes training at the club."

European Champions Made In Sporting exhibition opens

Bruno de Carvalho unveils new exhibition dedicated to Sporting's European heroes

The European Champions Made in Sporting exhibition officially opens this week in Palácio Foz (Restauradores, Lisbon), where Sporting's headquarters were once located.

The exhibition will open to the public as of Monday the 13th of September and will last for six months. The exhibition is open from Tuesday to Sunday (closed Monday), from 10h30 to 17h30.

Entry is free.

Bruno de Carvalho in South Africa to open two new Sporting Academies

President Bruno de Carvalho in South Africa to open the doors of two new Sporting Academy Schools. Despite his busy schedule, the Alvalade boss took a moment to speak about the recently closed transfer market and Adrien Silva.

"He has always been a person and athlete that impresses me. Adrien is a Sporting captain. The fans will know how to show their love for him. Things like what happened are normal and can happen to any player. I am really happy that he has stayed and he will continue to be one of our captains. The transfer market is always a frantic period and the fans have to stay calm. We have to manage a lot of interests and feelings and that is what we are here to do. We are happy to have fulfilled our promises, without damaging the promises we have made. We will miss João Mário, Slimani and Naldo of course and our heart will stay with them. Now is the time to embrace the new players who have come into the squad" said Bruno de Carvalho, finishing with a note on the importance of his strip to South Africa: "(I am) here to open two more Academies. We are investing a lot here and it is important to bring Sporting to other countries and develop other athletes, like we know best."

Arrival of Elias and Markovic see massive jump in Alvalade stocks

The final hours of the summer transfer market were spectacular in Alvalade, with Elias and Markovic penning late deals to join Jorge Jesus's squad, following the arrivals of Bas Dost, Castaignos, André and Douglas.

According to Jornal de Negócios, Sporting stocks had climbed 19% by 12h30 on the 1st of September, before adding a further 3% by 15h30.

Alvalade president sets off for Johannesburg to unveil new football schools

The transfer market had barely slammed shut when Bruno de Carvalho took off for South Africa, where the Sporting president will officially open two Sporting Academy Schools and meet with the region's Sporting Supporters' Clubs.

Bruno de Carvalho began the journey to Johannesburg on Thursday, where Sporting will is now expanding horizons after opening a facility in Canada and beginning the construction of a further 10 in China.

Tickets are available for the Central Stand A and B. Ticket offices will open at 10h00 on Thursday, with tickets expected to sell out early.
