Portuguese capital to host the final stage of Europe's top competition

Sporting Clube de Portugal is now a permanent member of the Super European Goalball League's permanent commission, together with the sport's powerhouses RGC Hansa Rostock, Old Power and FIFH Malmo.

The inclusion in the select group will see one of the stages of Europe's premier competition hosted in Portugal next season, scheduled for the 15th to the 18th of March 2018.

Coordinator of Sporting CP's Paralympic Department, Márcia Ferreira reflected on the win: "This is the highest point that Portuguese Goalball has ever been at. We came here full of ambition and we are going back home with the top European trophy. We promised this trophy to the president, because he has backed us more than anybody else."

Coach Paulo Fernandes was understandably overjoyed with the silverware, affirming: "This is a fantastic win against the best teams in the world."
