Alvalade table tennis star in European Championship action

Diogo Chen brought his showing in the European Table Tennis Championships singles competition with a win over Michael De Doer this week.

After slipping up against the Serbian Darko Jorgic, Chen recovered to beat the Dutchman Michel De Boer 3-2 (8-11, 11-6, 6-11, 11-6 and 12-10), before losing to the the French competitor Antoine Hachard.

Alvalade star called up for trip to Russia

Diogo Chen has been called up by the Portuguese Judo Federation for the coming European Championships, to be held in the Russian city of Ekaterinburg from the 25th of September to the 4th of October.

The Portuguese, who are actually the current European champions, will take part in group A along with France, Hungary and Serbia.
